BIRD DOG: This is a satellite tracking program that you need to track the satellites. Satellites can be tracked without any additional equipment. You will have to enter your location  longitude and latitude and get the latest Keplarian elements. They are included with the program but are not the latest. Be sure to read the readme.doc file after downloading as there is much to the program.   DOWNLOAD Bird.zip now. Select  "save to disk".when asked.

 

TRAKSAT: Here is another satellite tracking program you can use. It has more features but can be harder to use for some people. Try them both to see which one you prefer.  DOWNLOAD Trak280.exe now (self extracting file).

 

KEPLERIAN ELEMENTS: This is a link to the latest Keplerian elements from AMSAT. It is a text file, so save it to a file from your browser when it appears. To use with your satellite tracking program you might have to remove the file header and use only the elements starting with AO-10.  DOWNLOAD: http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/keps/current/nasa.all

  Note all executable files are shareware. As far as we know there is no expiration date. They are all DOS files but will operate under Microsoft Windows in a DOS box. We've tested these programs with 386's 486's and Pentiums and did not notice any problems.  Later programs are available but they cost upwards of $50.
